There isn’t a separate passing mark for UGC NET Paper 1. The qualifying marks are calculated for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 combined. Here’s what you need to know:
General category: To qualify for UGC NET, you need to score at least 40% in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 combined.
Reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Third Gender): The qualifying marks are lowered to 35% in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 combined for these categories.
It’s important to remember that while these are the minimum qualifying marks, they don’t guarantee anything. To qualify for Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions, you need to secure a much higher score depending on your category and subject.
