The marks distribution for the GATE Economics exam is as follows:
Total Marks: 100
Section Marks Number of Questions Question Type
General Aptitude 15 10 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Reading Comprehension 25 15 MCQs
Economics 60 40 MCQs and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions
The General Aptitude and Reading Comprehension sections are common to all GATE papers and contribute 40 marks to the total score.
The Economics section is specific to the GATE Economics paper and contributes 60 marks to the total score.
There is negative marking for MCQs in the General Aptitude and Reading Comprehension sections, but not for NAT questions in the Economics section.
