UGC NET Exam Pattern: Check Latest Pattern for UGC NET 2021
(a) Mode of UGC NET Examination:
- NTA UGC NET 2021 will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) only.
(b) The pattern of UGC NET Exam 2020:
- This test will consist of two papers i.e.
(a) Paper I.
(b) Paper II.- Both the papers (Paper I and Paper II) will consist of only objective type questions.
- There will be no break between the two sections.
- Paper I: There is a total of 50 questions and each question is of 2 marks. So, total marks for Paper I is 100. A candidate will be allotted 1 hour to attempt this section. It will consist of topics from Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Communication, Divergent Thinking, and General Awareness. All the questions are compulsory.
- Paper II: There is a total of 100 questions and each question is of 2 marks. So, total marks for Paper II is 200. A candidate will be allotted 2 hours to attempt this section. Paper II will have the questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. For e.g., If one candidate selects Electronic Science, he/she attempts Paper II which has questions from electronics only. All the questions are compulsory.
- There are no negative marks for an incorrect response.
- No marks will be allotted for unanswered/marked for review questions.
- If a question is found to be incorrect, the benefit of marks will be given to only those candidates who attempted the question.
- The cut-off will be decided separately for an individual subject.
- The cut-off will be decided after obtaining marks out of 300 (Paper I and Paper II).
