UGC NET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

• Qualifying Exam:(General/ UR/ General- EWS) CANDIDATES WITH THE Post Graduate degree (PG) or any Masters Degree with Equivalent from any UGC Recognised University or Institution will be allowed to apply.
• Qualifying Subjects: The students who have passed their Post-Graduation (PG) Master’s Deg with any subject from Electronic Science, Humanities and Social science (including languages), Computer science and applications, etc. will be eligible.
• Qualifying Marks: The students must have obtained at least 55% marks (50% marks for ST/SC/OBC (NCL)/PWD/ Transgender category candidates) in their Master’s Degree/ Post Graduation (PG).
• Appearing Candidates: The students who are in the last year of their Qualifying Exam/ Master’s Degree, Post-Graduation, or who have appeared and given the exam and waiting for the result are also eligible to apply.
• Appearing students will be only eligible only if they will fulfill the qualification requirement.
• The candidates must complete the Post-graduation degree within the 2 years of the declaration of the result else the candidates will be disqualified.
• D. Holders: The candidates who have a Ph.D. Degree and also who holds a master’s degree exam which has been completed by September 1992 will be allotted 5% Relaxation is the aggregated marks (That means from 55% to 50%).

Age Criteria:

• Assistance Professor: For The UG NET, there is no upper age limit for the candidates.
• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The candidates who are applying for the JRF should not be more than 30 years of age as of 1^st December 2021.
• Age Relaxations: The candidates belonging to the ST/ SC/ PWD/ OBC- NCL/ Transgender/ women Category will get 5 Years of age relaxation.
• Candidates with Research Experiences will get the 5 Years of age relaxations.
• Students who have served the Indian armed forces will get the relaxation of the 5 Years.
• LLM Degree holder candidate will get the 3 years’ age relaxations.

Exemption (For Assistant Professor):

• Candidates who have passed the JRF/ UGC/ CSIR exam before the year 1989 are exempted to participate in the UGC NET.
• NET/ SET/ SLET will be the minimum eligibility condition that will remain the same for the appointment and the requirement of the Assistant Professor in Institutions/ Universities.
• The notice regarding the exemption of the NET/ SET/ SLET will be regulated by the UGC Regulations and the notification of the amendments will be notified in the Gazette of India.
• Students who have qualified for the SET entrance test accredited by UGC for Assistant professor held before 1st December 2003 are exempted from applying for the UGC NET and they can apply for the Assistant professor anywhere in India.
• Students who have passed the SET entrance from the/ onwards 1st December 2003, those cleared SET entrance test candidates will be eligible for the Assistant professor only in colleges and universities of the state from where they have cleared their SET.

UGC NET 2021 Exam Pattern

• Exam Mode: The examination will be conducted through the online mode (CBT).
• Number of Papers: The exam will be consisting of two papers.

The official authority will not inform the candidates individually about the declaration of the UGC NET 2021 Result. The marks of each candidate will be published on the official website of the NTA. The NTA will not issues any mark sheet to the candidates.
