To be eligible for the UGC NET Electronic Science exam, you must meet the following criteria set by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India:
Educational Qualification:
You must have a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Science or a closely related field from a UGC-recognized university or institution in India.
Candidates appearing for their final year Master’s exams (results awaited) can also apply provisionally.
Minimum Marks:
The minimum qualifying marks are 55% in your Master’s degree for the General category and Other Backward Classes (OBC) (non-creamy layer).
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Transgender categories have a relaxation of 5%, requiring only 50% marks in their Master’s degree.
Nationality:
You must be an Indian citizen.
Age Limit:
There’s no upper age limit for applying to the Assistant Professor post.
For the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) post, the upper age limit is 30 years. However, there’s a relaxation of 5 years for OBC (non-creamy layer), SC, ST, PwD, and women candidates.
