CUET-PG Exam Eligibility Criteria 2025 & Exam Pattern Educational Qualification, Marks Required in Graduation & More

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the CUET Eligibility Criteria 2024. There is no age restriction for students taking the exam. No matter their age, students who passed the graduation [UG] are eligible to sit for the CUET (PG) – 2024 exams. Candidates should score a minimum of 50% marks in their Graduation in the General category and 45% for SC/ST candidates. The candidate should be of Indian nationality. A total of 53 Universities are taking part in CUET 2024. Every university has a different set of prerequisites or eligibility standards for applicants. CUET 2024 mainly offers three different course categories. Candidates may submit applications for research and integrated postgraduate. Students should check the specific CUET eligibility criteria 2024 of each university separately for their respective courses before submitting an application for CUET 2024.

CUET PG Exam Date 2024: According to UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar’s most recent tweet, the National Testing Agency will hold the CUET PG 2024 examinations Tentatative from June 1 to 10, 2024. Candidates who are eligible for the CUET PG 2024 exams can register and apply for the exam on the official website by mid-March 2024.
The CUET PG 2024 Entrance Exam is held for admission to Postgraduate programmes offered at the country’s central universities and colleges. Candidates who have completed their graduate studies and are in the final year of their undergraduate programme are eligible to apply for the CUET PG 2024 Exams.

CUET PG Exam Pattern 2024-
Check the exam pattern of CUET PG 2024 mentioned below:
- Exam mode: The exam will be conducted in Computer Based test (CBT) mode only.
- Medium of paper: The paper will be conducted in English and Hindi language.
- Number of questions: Each question paper will contain 100 questions.

Important Note
- Candidates can apply for ONLY ONE COURSE IN A SLOT. The candidate should read the Information Bulletin carefully and identify the course and the University for which he/she is applying and check the eligibility of the University where they are seeking admission.
- Each question paper will have 100 Questions.
- Candidate has to choose language English or Hindi for the General Paper. (Choose Carefully).
- The Question Paper will be in Sanskrit only for Acharya, Shiksha Shastri and Shiksha Acharya Courses.
- Further in case of Shiksha Shastri and Shiksha Acharya the entire 100 questions of the question paper would be in Sanskrit language only.
- In case of PGQP60 and PGQP62 concerned language only would be used for the domain knowledge questions i.e. 75 questions.
MARKING SCHEME CUET PG Exam 2024
- Each question carries 04 (four) marks.
- For each correct response, the candidate will get 04 (four) marks.
- For each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total score.
- Unanswered/un-attempted responses will be given no marks.
- To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as correct option.
- However, after the process of Challenges of the Answer Key, in case there are multiple correct options or change in key, only those candidates who have attempted it correctly as per the revised Answer key will be awarded marks.
- In case a Question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates irrespective of the fact who have attempted it or not.
AGE LIMIT CUET-PG Exam 2024
For appearing in the CUET (PG) 2024, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the bachelor degree/equivalent examination or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (PG) 2024 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria of the University in which they are desirous of taking admission.
Note:
- For admission in Universities through CUET (PG)-2024, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc. of the respective University shall be applicable.
- As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs.
- Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the eligibility criteria laid down by the University they are applying to.
- Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Programme unless he/she fulfils the Programme-wise eligibility conditions of the University they are applying to.
RESERVATIONS Policy CUET PG Exam 2024
- Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as given below. However, the reservation policy of the respective University shall be applicable.
- General category belonging to Economically Weaker Section (GEN- EWS) – 10% of seats in every course. The benefit of reservation will be given only to those General category candidates who satisfy the conditions given in the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The criteria for GEN-EWS will be as per the prevailing norms and/or notifications of the Government of India.
- Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL) – 27% of seats in every course.
- OBCs should be listed in the current updated central list of OBCs (http://www.ncbc.nic.in).
- OBCs present in the state list but not covered in the central list of OBCs (as per the list in http://www.ncbc.nic.in) are NOT eligible to claim the reservation.
- The criteria for OBC-NCL will be as per the notification of the Government of India.
- Candidates belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled to reservation. Such candidates are treated as belonging to the general (GEN), i.e. unreserved category, and they will be eligible only for the OPEN seats – the seats for which all candidates are eligible.
- Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15% of seats in every course.
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats in every course.
- Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) – 5% seats in each of OPEN, GEN-EWS
